{QUALITY} OVER QUANTITY

I was here trying to come up with a good idea to re-start blogging, especially because my "personal photographer" is sick (please babe, get well soon) and it has rained a lot in the last days so I coudn't exactly go outside and take pictures of anything.
But I promised myself I would truly dedicate to my blog this year and I was wondering what can I do in the meantime.
Truth is, there is no great post unless you write about what drives you and what you actually relate to. So I thought I could share with you one of my new year's resolutions: Choose quality over quantity.
I've always been a bit of a shopaholic, I have to admit, but I've found myself so many times, looking at some of my purchases and thinking "why did I buy this s**t? I don't like it that much."
That said, I've decided to be smarter and try to buy less but better. There's a couple of investments I want to make and I'm sure it'll be worth it. I believe sometimes it's worth ponying up for some really good stuff but I have to consider which pieces I'm really going to get a lot of use from and will be excited to use for many seasons to come.

So I was inspired to present to you my Top 5 Investments that I'll surely (hope to) make:

#1: IPHONE

This is actually a double-edged sword because iPhone is not the best investment, technologically speaking, but it is something I've been wanting to put my hands on since Instagram was launched. I know this sounds ridiculous but trust me, I have good reasons for choosing iPhone over an Android or a Windows Phone - which I owned before and I actually like it but Instagram isn't available for Windows Phone yet - and my actual phone is no longer worthy of showing it to anyone (meaning scratches and missing characters on the keyboard).

#2: CHIC SNEAKERS

As much as I love high heels (which I really do), I must be the number one fan of flats. They're so versatile and comfortable, and you will hardly kill your feet after strolling down the city all day long if you're carrying a pair of wearable, versatile and chic sneakers. When I think of me in between heels and flats, I always remember of Kristen Stewart and her long gowns with sneakers underneath - stilettos are gorgeous and chic, but sneakers are what keeps you standing by the end of the day.

#3: A GO ANYWHERE DRESS

Now, this is way much easier said than done. It requires a mental exercise and you have to picture the dress in many situations, styled in different ways:

1. Can I wear it to work? A business meeting?
2. Can I wear it out to dinner or lunch?
3. Can I wear it to meet my boyfriend's parents?
4. Can I wear it to a girl's night out? A cocktail party?
5. Can I wear it to go to a wedding?
5. What if I had to meet Your Majesty, the Queen of England or Mr. Obama?

If you can answer all these questions with a Yes, then don't think twice and go for it!

#4: CLASSIC BLACK PUMPS

A couple of weeks ago, I have come to the sad conclusion that if I want high heels to perfectly fit my feet, I have to size down one number.

Now, if I used to think that it sucks to have small and slim feet and wear size 36, can you imagine how it feels to have to wear 35? It became even harder to find shoes that are not constantly sliding out.
But as an aspiring shoe designer and a fashion blogger, that will not certainly hold me back and I really think that shoes are a piece that is worth investing in because, again, shoes are what keeps you walking back and forth and standing throughout the day and they should be of good quality and give you some stability to protect your spine and, I don't know about you, but nothing chills me to the bone quite like looking a mess and not feeling capable of giving one more single step.
Besides, putting on some classic pumps is the easiest way to make a very "day" emsemble look cocktail-appropriate (and a smart blazer thwron on top).

So, why not Louboutins? Well, I don't think a red sole will make it more comfortable or even worth to buy. And they seem to hurt like hell so, I think these Prada will do the job perfectly - and they're cheaper.

#5: QUINTESSENTIALY STYLISH OUTERWEAR

Now, when it comes to throw something on top to complete your outfit, I have two distinct favorites and one can never replace the other.

First, a blazer. And that is the single most important thing to really save up and invest in because it's a crucial piece and you can never go wrong with one.
I bought one recently from Zara but this Helmut Lang's wool tuxedo blazer is unique and incredibly versatile. You can go quite casual or super suited and it'll work with pretty much every piece of clothing you already own.

On the other hand, there's a coat, a good one, and you expect it not only to keep you warm but to actually stand alone as an outfit for those days when you have no other option than to keep your coat on, otherwise you will freeze to death.
And this De Tomaso's Red Riding Hood keeps melting my heart and stealing some "Ah's" and "Oh's" from me. Did you notice how invariably versatile it is? It's perfect!

So, what do you think? Do you agree with my list or is it your list of most-needed pieces a bit different? Tell me everything!
